All About Our Reblooming Daylilies
The traditional daylily, or hemerocallis, produces a large number of flowers in several clumps over the period of multiple weeks. After this blooming period, the daylily would stop producing new flowers for the season. Reblooming daylilies also produce flowers in clumps, but rather than having a single bloom period, they produce repeated blooms over an extended period of time. Some varieties are known to provide your garden fresh blooms all season long, from spring until fall.
Daylilies require full sun exposure and are happy to be planted anytime when the ground is not frozen. All our offerings are blooming size plants, meaning they typically bloom for you during their first year. Many of our daylilies are offered bareroot, with 2-3 or more fan divisions per plant, unless they are labeled as potted. Other online retailers tend to offer much smaller specimens for sale. When you buy reblooming daylilies from Gilbert H. Wild, you're receiving a top quality product at the lowest possible price.
New daylily introductions are typically offered in 3" by 3" by 3.5" deep pots, and are shipped protected in a sleeve. The potted reblooming daylilies that you buy from us are usually single fans about the size of your thumb or two smaller fans the size of your little finger. We use the same size pot for our field planting and experience over a 90% bloom. Rest assured, these daylilies grow very quickly because of all the hair roots in the pot.
