All About Our Daylilies
The word Hemerocallis is derived from two Greek words meaning "beauty" and "day," referring to the fact that each flower lasts only one day. To make up for this, there are many flower buds on each daylily flower stalk, and many stalks in each clump of plants, so, the flowering period of a clump is usually several weeks long. And, many cultivars are rebloomers, featuring more than one flowering period each season.
All of our daylily plants require full sun and can be planted anytime that the ground is not frozen. We ship blooming size plants, meaning you should see blooms their first year. Most plants are offered bareroot, with 2-3 or more fan divisions per plant, unless they are indicated otherwise. Few online retailers can match the generous size of our bare root daylilies. When you buy a daylily from Gilbert H. Wild, you can rest assured you're getting a premium product at a great low price.
Our newer daylily introductions are premium, bareroot, single fan divisions and are wrapped in high quality gardening mix.
